Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) August 1, 2006

Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) will launch the Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal (AENJ) http://www.lww.com/products/?1931-4485 with the July/September 2006 issue publishing this August. Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, part of Wolters Kluwer Health, and publisher of some of the nation’s most popular nursing journals, including American Journal of Nursing (AJN), Nursing2006 & The Nurse Practitioner responded to the growing need for a resource dedicated to the high-level issues facing experienced clinical nurse specialists (CNS), nurse practitioners (NP), educators, and other advanced practice clinicians in emergency care.

According to Karen Sue Hoyt, RN, PhD, FNP, APRN,BC, CEN, FAEN, co-editor of Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal and an emergency nurse practitioner, the Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal launch comes just as the Institute of Medicine releases “The Future of Emergency Care in the United States Health System” June 2006 report which notes that not only is Emergency Department (ED) volume increasing, but patients coming to the ED are older and sicker, and require more complex and time-consuming workups and treatments. According to the IOM Report (2006) nearly 114 million patients visited EDs in the United States last year. This large volume causes quality and safety concerns for patients. These issues have created a need for innovative and cost effective approaches to the care of emergency patients (ENA, 2003).

“The demands on nurses in emergency and trauma care have grown dramatically,” says Jean A. Proehl, RN, MN, CEN, CCRN, FAEN, co-editor of Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal and an emergency clinical nurse specialist, “We are under relentless pressure to improve and update emergency care and expand our knowledge and skill sets. The emphasis on evidence based practice ensures that constant change will be a way of life in emergency care for the foreseeable future. AENJ will help clinical nurse specialists and other advanced practice clinicians stay current with the state of the art and see what’s coming around the next bend. We include practical advice on implementation and application of new information which is of specific interest to advanced practice nurses and educators.”

Advanced Emergency Nursing Journal is a peer-reviewed journal with articles containing evidence-based material that can be applied to daily practice. Continuing Education opportunities are available in each issue and may be taken on-line at Nursingcenter.com. Feature articles focus on in-depth, state of the science content relevant to advanced practice nurses and experienced clinicians in emergency care.

PostHeaderIcon Panama Real Estate Boom Not Slowing Down

Panama City, Panama (PRWEB) December 7, 2007

Panama Hot Real Estate, a property investment company based in Panama, announced that there is no basis for the speculations about a possible real estate bubble burst. Panama GDP growth meets expectations and continues to grow.

“Panama’s economy will have the best performance of any country in Latin America in 2007 and in 2008,” said Fidel Ponce, Director of Panama Hot Real Estate, commenting on statements from a Latin Business Chronicle analysis of new forecasts from the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). “ECLAC predicts Panama’s GDP should grow by 8.5 percent this year and another 7.5 percent next year. Panama is outperforming all other countries in Latin America.”

Panama has awarded its first contracts for the $ 5.2 billion expansion of the Panama Canal that is expected to create many new jobs and bring additional investments, including in real estate. Panama has experienced a rise in property values because of increasing popularity as a retirement destination. Panama maintains this position due to its political stability, stable banking laws, warm climate, one of the lowest crime rates in Latin America and relatively low cost of living.

Economic growth in Panama is supported by growth in the tourism sector. Panama Institute of Tourism predicts that by 2010 Panama will have more than 2 million tourists per year, surpassing Costa Rica.

“Panama is the fastest-growing tourism market in Latin America, measured by arrival growth, according to a Latin Business Chronicle analysis based on World Tourism Organisation data. Panama posted the strongest growth in tourist arrivals in 2006, over 20 percent,” commented Ponce.
