All major credit cards are accepted in Panama at most shops, supermarkets and hotels. However, you do require currency for making small payments.

1. 2 Letters of Reference from 2 other banking institutions, authenticated with Apostille or by Panama Consul, addressed to the bank in Panama,
2. Copy of the passport and another picture identification (providing the original documents for
   verification)
3. Tax return or other document which will help the bank identify the income range of the applicant
   and compare it with the movement of account.

The Panama Superintendent of Banks has a website http://www.superbancos.gob.pa where all institutions licensed to provide banking services are listed. Institutions which do not appear in this listing act in violation of local laws and depositors risk losing their deposits.

In addition, Panama banks owned by investors holding publicly-traded shares, disclose their financial statements and relevant events to the Panama Stock Exchange http://www.panabolsa.com, which helps to gauge their financial solvency.

Panama is one of these. No other country puts so many fishing opportunities at a tourist’s fingertips.  The secret of great fishing in Panama is unmatched access to a variety of fishing areas. This is the only country in a world where you can fish in the Atlantic, Pacific and in tropical fresh water in a single day.  Gatun Lake  One of the jewels in Panama’s fishing destinations is Gatun Lake. At the time of its creation, it was the world’s largest freshwater lake. It has a formidable area of 164 square miles. The lake was originally created to store water for the operation of the Panama

Canal’s locks: the system that raises and lowers ships in transit through the canal. Some smaller vessels make shortcuts through the lake, so visitors can see ships from all over the world while they fish.  Peacock Bass Fishing in Panama  Gatun Lake is host to a number of freshwater tropical fish species, but is perhaps best known for its Peacock Bass. In the 1950s, a private citizen was raising them in his pond, when heavy rain allowed them to cross into the lake. They have multiplied and prospered since then, creating an incredible sport fishing opportunity.  The Peacock Bass is a feisty, challenging fish, best suited to being caught with fly rods. Although the fish exists in Florida, it is rare enough there to discourage eating. The state government enforces strict bag limits and many fishers practice catch and release. This isn’t the case in Panama, where the fish has prospered. You can enjoy the sweet taste of your catch without guilt.

Ocean Fishing in Panama  Additionally, Panama tourists can enjoy fishing in the Atlantic or Pacific. Inshore and offshore trips are available. Guides are used to new fishers. Many resorts provide a full tackle kit for anyone fishing either coast. Locations like Pedasi (Atlantic Ocean) and Chiriqui (Pacific Ocean) are famous for their excellent fishing and hospitality. Ocean species such as Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi and Wahoo are available at different times of the year.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
When Hanover Holidays receives a special request from your travel agent, such as a request for non-smoking rooms or
lower floor rooms, we will gladly pass these requests on to all of the hotels involved. Please refer to the Tour Membership Ticket enclosed to make sure that we have correctly received your requests from your travel agent.
However, due to limited availability of these types of rooms, not all requests of this nature can be met by the hotels. If a medical condition exists which makes it imperative that you have a special type of room please make sure that your travel agent has made us aware of this condition and we will ask the hotels to give your request special consideration.

BAGGAGE
Hanover Holiday Tours will handle two large suitcases per person at the hotel and aboard coach, with hand luggage
carried personally aboard the motorcoach. Your supplied luggage tags should be secured to your large piece of luggage prior to joining the tour. Be sure your bags are locked This tag identifies your luggage on the motorcoach and at hotels.
Carry jewelry, money, important documents, spare medication, glasses or contact lenses in your hand luggage. If you are taking cameras or other expensive equipment out of Canada, be sure to have the serial numbers registered with Canada Customs. Every effort is taken to ensure that your luggage is handled with extreme care by the motorcoach driver and transfers drivers. However, we recommend that you purchase baggage insurance as we cannot accept responsibility for any damage which may occur. If you notice damage at any time throughout the tour, please report it to the tour director immediately.

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP
Due to the circumstances in the United States, Hanover Holidays has been advised that all passengers crossing the U.S. border should carry at least 1 piece of photo identification along with proper citizenship.
Please do not pack your proof of citizenship in your suitcase. It should be kept on your person so that it is easily accessible when required to be shown to immigration officials at the border. Please note a valid Permanent Resident (PR) is required to return to Canada for all landed immigrants.
**We have been advised that travel documents for tours crossing the border will be checked more thoroughly.
Please be prepared for possible delays at Border Crossings.

Climb straight out to several hundred feed before making any turns. The rudder control is very effective and you should have no problems getting the feel of it. Notice if the rudder controls are near the middle when in level flight. A strong turning tendency indicates wing or vertical tail misalignment. If you are holding too much back pressure or forward pressure on the stick, you may have to adjust the CG or the tail incidence. Before your first landing, climb to 500 to 1000 feet and explore the slow flight characteristics of your Pup. Reduce power and let the nose come down for a normal glide. Take note of the stick pressure and position and aircraft attitude you will be using in a landing approach. Next, ease the stick back farther until you begin to feel an increased sink rate (and probably more stick pressure). Avoid this condition when near the ground.

Landing is the easiest part. Make a long straight approach with partial power and normal glide speed. Adjust the throttle so you will make the runway. You only have to fly level close to the ground and reduce power when the wheels touch. Your first landing may be fast so be careful of lowering the tail too soon or it will takeoff again……the next step is to enter your first flight in a log book!
