WWW.WORLDSGREATESTNOVEL.COM is appealing for more writers to submit work for there worldwide writing project.
The aim of the site is to create a novel, where writers are only allowed to write 1000 words.
The project has only been going for a month, but they have so far received 467 submissions from all over the world.
15 of these have so far been selected to be published on the website www.worldsgreatestnovel.com. Once 50 submissions have been selected an online vote will take place to decide which of the short listed works is chosen to start the novel.
The process continues until the novel is complete. It is then hoped that the book will be published.
The website received 1,291 unique hits yesterday alone and this figure has increased every day since the launch of the project.
Richard Shepherd is the owner of the site and he had the following to say: “To date, we have received a tremendous amount of literary works, it is fantastic. We have had to employ extra editors to cope with the submissions. To be receiving over 1,000 unique hits a day is fantastic, I thought we had a good idea, but this is superb. The shortlist is coming along nicely, we have 35 more spaces for people to compete for.”
He adds, “The online forum is generating a great debate already as to which one of the works on the shortlist so far is the best. We have had entries from all over the world – USA, Ireland, Spain, India, New Zealand, Jamaica, Italy, Germany, Iraq, Egypt, China, Russia as well as many more. We are appealing for anyone else who wishes to enter, to visit the website and submit their work for consideration.”
Richard went to on say the site were in rush to place anything on the shortlist and would be willing to wait for works that excelled in quality, scope and creativity.
The competition is free to enter so for more information please visit www.worldsgreatestnovel.com
